Getting started

Log in with your Discord account. AlterOS reads the servers you manage and uses its bot to apply templates to them.

Invite the bot

The AlterOS bot has to be in a server before you can do anything with it. Open that server from your dashboard and hit Invite bot, then pick the server you want. The bot needs two permissions:

• • Manage Roles

Without those it can't create or reorder anything. For Replace server mode the bot's role also has to sit above the roles it is managing.

Building a template

A template is a saved structure. It holds roles, categories, and the channels inside those categories.

Roles

Every role has a name, a color, and a list of permissions. Flip Separate on if you want that role shown on its own in the member list. Discord calls this hoisting.

Categories and channels

Add a category, then add channels inside it. A channel can be text, voice, or news. To reorder, tap the grip on the left of a channel, then tap the channel you want to drop it next to. You can tap anywhere on a channel row to drop it there. Press Esc to cancel a move.

Channel permissions

Open a channel and pick a role to add an overwrite. For each permission you can allow it, deny it, or leave it alone. These only affect that one channel.

Drafts

Your work autosaves to this browser as you type. Close the tab and come back later and the draft is still there. Saving the template stores it on your account instead.

Applying to a server

Open a server from your dashboard and go to Deploy. There are two ways to apply a template.

Apply changes

This adds what is missing and updates what is already there. It never deletes anything. Use it to build a server up over time.

Replace server

This deletes every channel and role the bot can reach, then builds the template from scratch. Anything the bot did not create, like other bots' channels and integrations, will break. Pick this when you want a clean slate.

Architectural Audit Premium

Open a server and go to Audit, then run a scan. AlterOS reads every role and channel permission overwrite and checks them against known Discord security risks. It is read-only, so nothing on your server is changed.

You get a health score from 0 to 100 with a letter grade, plus a list of findings sorted by severity. Each finding explains the risk and how to fix it. It flags things like dangerous @everyone permissions, over-privileged bots and roles, open announcement channels, and a missing moderator role.

Many findings can be fixed for you right away. Use the Auto-fix button to apply the safe changes, or fix them one by one. The fix is applied live to Discord and only flips the specific permission bits involved — roles keep their IDs, position in the hierarchy, members, and the overall channel structure are never touched, and every change is reversible from Server Settings.

You can cancel a monthly plan any time from Settings. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and cannot be refunded or canceled.

Troubleshooting

Bot is not in the server

Invite it from the server page, then refresh the page.

Missing permissions

Give the bot Manage Channels and Manage Roles, and make sure its role sits above the roles you are trying to manage.

Apply failed

Check the bot is still in the server and has not been kicked. A full error is shown after each deploy attempt.
